Finish At Calvin This Year
Commencement Exercises At Eastern Avenue Church On June 3
If successful in their examinations, 32 students of Calvin college will be graduated from the different departments this year.
Five will be graduated from the theological seminary, Albert Brat, Herman Kuiper, William Trap, John Vander Lune, and Zachariah Sherda.
From the seven-year college course: Watson Groen, Nick Jensen, and Harm Albert Pilon will finish, two of whom will continue their studies at the University of Michigan. The other will enter the seminary.
Jacob M. Olthof, Dietrich H. Plessher, Martin Van Dyke, Herman Wyngarden, Dirk Weldenaar, John Harry Gruessing, Edward Bouwsma, and William Terpsma will complete the six year college course. Three will either take up work as teachers in the different Christian schools or go to other schools, while five will enter the seminary preparatory for the ministry.
Sixteen will be graduated from the preparatory school to take up work as teachers or further their studies-Josie Baker, Florence Boersema, Gerrit Bylsema, John DeHaar, A. Ruby W. DeKorne, Benjamin Engbers, Ella H. Hofstra, Richard Hommes, Henry A. Kuiper, Henry J. Kuiper, Jennie Mollenbeck, Renzina Stob, Irene Sytsema, Marie Katherine Tiddens, E. F. John Van Haisema, and Elizabeth Cornelia Van Westenbrugge.
The commencement exercises will be held Tuesday, June 3, in Eastern Avenue Christian Reformed church. Prof. A.J. Rooks, principal of the college, will give the diplomas to the graduates of the college and preparatory school, while Prof. F. Ten Hoer, rector of the seminary, will give the diplomas to those complete their course there.
William Terpsma of Lynden, Wash. and Martin Van Dyke of Paterson, N.J., will speak in behalf of the college, and William Trap of Muskegon and Herman Kuiper of Nickerk will speak for the theological graduates.
