The Grand Army of the Republic has been replaced by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. For more information on this organization, take a look at the Society's Department of Michigan. For the ladies, there is also a Daughters organization that you can obtain more information about from the same site.

Some records from these old camps are available for use at the Archives of Michigan, in Lansing.

A complete listing of all Michigan men who served in the Civil War has been compiled into a set of books called the Record of Service of Michigan Volunteers in the Civil War (46 volumes), available at the Library of Michigan Bon microfiche. Other libraries may have hard copies, as does the Grand Rapids Public Library
