Seeking parents of DAVIS, Hezekiah, b. @ 1851 in MD, PA or OH, m. Cornelia KEMPTON, Summit Co., OH, 1874, came to Mecosta Co, MI @ 1881-2. Lived in Sylvester, Mecosta Co. until his death Nov 25, 1923. Buried Hinton Cemetery. Had 7 children. His daughter Elva May DAVIS, b. Jan 27, 1890 in Mecosta Co. is my husband's paternal grandmother. Death certificate no help on his parents.

I am searching for any information regarding William D. Grant. He married Olive Rose on May 23, 1867 in Green Twp. Mecosta Co. They had a daughter Alice Jane born in June 1869. Alice had two brothers, whose names are believed to be Floyd and Howard. William, Olive and Alice show up in the 1870 census records in Mecosta Co. but not the 1880's. My grandmother was born in Big Rapids, Michigan 7/31/1891 to a lady by the name of Mirim Snyder (first name may vary in spelling) who after the birth took her baby and put her in a basket and left her on the G.R & I train, that was traveling between Big Rapids and Grand Rapids. I need any information about the birth or the railroad. All that Michigan would issue me is a typed form copy. Can anyone tell me the names of the hospitals in Big Rapids or if the railroad is still active. My grandmother was adopted by a couple named Thomas & Susan Allen who resided in Middleville. Would like any info on them. If anyone could do a lookup for me on the birth or supply me with any info, I would be happy to return the favor in the Houston, Tx area. Thanks So Much Cindy G

I'm researching the Glossender/Glossenger family of Mecosta County. Thomas J. Glossender/ger & his wife Emeline Shurtlieff - came to Mecosta County in the 1880's from Wayne County, NY with some of their children. Children who came with them are daughter Daisy - who married James CRIPPEN, daughter Mary - who married ?? ACKER, son Frank.   Thomas, Emeline & Frank are buried in Big Rapids.  Thomas b. ca 1835 CT d. 1918 MI, Emeline  b. NY d.1917 MI, & Frank b. 1867 NY d.1912 MI.   Would love to correspond with anyone who connects to any of these families.
