Surnames: HORRICKS, MOFFATT, TAYLOR, TUCKER, WINEGARDEN
Researcher: M. Richard JACOBS

Looking for the above surnames in Mecosta Co., MI. Isaac Brock Winegarden settled in Paris with his 2nd wife Anna TUCKER (?). They had a daughter Rose Ann Winegarden born 1870, Ontario, Canada. Tax rolls shows annual payment of property taxes until the death of Isaac in late 1881 at the Poor Farm in Stanwood. Tax Roll then states, Winegarden Estate. Isaac and dau. Rose Ann also found in the 1880 census for Mecosta Co. Her mother is not enumerated in that census with the family. The property upon which the family lived according to Mecosta Co. property records was bought and sold after the death of Isaac by Anna Winegarden. Dau. Rose Ann then became a ward of Mecosta Co. apparently following the death of her father. By 1885 Rose had a daughter Edith. It is not certain whether the father is Robert E. Taylor or his son Charles Ansel Taylor. The birth occurred in Remus. In 1886 Rose Ann married Charles Ansel TAYLOR. One of the witnesses at the marriage was Annie HORRICKS, possibly her mother. A child was born to Charles and Rose, a dau., Eva Melissa Taylor. The Charles and Rose separated between 1895 and 1900 and went to Greenville, Montcalm County. He married again but indicated on the marriage license that he had never been married before. His daughter Edith is found in the 1900 census for Montcalm. She is living with Rubin TINKUM (?) and his family. Her relationship with the family was "Adopted," though she still had her maiden name. It is believed that Rubin's wife was Edith's aunt. Her father(?) Charles E. TAYLOR died in a hospital at Traverse City about 1811 leaving a widow and two young children..
