|Wilderness Chronicle, a local history magazine, was first published in the
summer of 1984 as a "Special Anniversary Edition Commemorating the Reunion of Clinton
Township Schools and the Construction of the Clinton Township Community Building."
This edition was so popular that Nelson Yoder and Marilyn Duckworth combined their
efforts and began publishing the Chronicle four times a year and expanded their coverage
from the Comins area to most of central northern Michigan.
With over 70 editions printed, the Chronicle was sponsored by the Friends of Steiner Museum, based in Fairview and continued to feature historical items from the northern Michigan communities, including Ogemaw County. The magazine was published quarterly and usually contained nearly 70 pages of insight into those by-gone days of long ago. At present, the Chronicle is no longer in print.
