Seeking information concerning my great uncle, Nathaniel Leroy Elkins (known as Roy), who died 08 Oct 1918 (b. 05 Sep 1891) while in the army serving in Washington D.C. We assume he died during the flu epidemic. Tragically, his infant son died (of the flu as well?) while his wife, Vera, was traveling to Evart, Osceola Co., MI, where his funeral was to take place, having been visiting at his parents' home in Eaton, Preble Co., OH. So Roy and his son were buried in a joint service in Evart. All of this is according to a newspaper clipping that we found in an old family Bible. We don't know where Roy and his son are buried in Evart, nor do we know his son's name, or his wife, Vera's, maiden name. Roy and Eva were probably married only a short time before his death. We assume that there must have been an Osceola county connection in his wife's family. Otherwise we know of no reason why they would have called Evart their home. We also don't know whether Vera remarried. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for information about Philip H. ORTH and his wife,Fanny (nee KURTZ) and their family who lived in Sears,Michigan, around the late 1800's and early 1900's. I believe that Philip was a honey producer. They came to Michigan from Wallace Township, Perth County, Ontario, Canada. They had nine children, four girls and five boys but we do not know the names of any of these children. Philip Orth was born in Germany around 1846-47 and Fanny was born around 1849, also in Germany. Philip's parents were Johann and Eva Margaretha (Hoferbt) and Fanny's parents were Gerhardt Kurtz and Maria "Francisca" (Meinsinger). It appears that several of Fanny's brothers and sisters also came to Michigan so we suspect that there was some connection with the Kurtz family somewhere in Michigan. I would like to contact anyone who has any information about this family or who might know of any of their descendants. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am seeking anyone researching the LOOP surname in Michigan-In particular, the family of Henry Edwin LOOP and Catherine VANGORDON.The couple were early settlers of Kent County, Michigan, but concluded their lives in the LeRoy area of Osceola County. I think that this may have been because their son Ray Elmer LOOP and his wife,Nellie M. ? were living in LeRoy in the early 1900's. Ray died there in 1967. Although Ray and his wife may have been other children that I am not aware of, they did have one son named Verl LOOP who was b. c1905. Ray Earl LOOP and my ancestor, William Henry LOOP were both sons of Henry and Catherine VANGORDON LOOP. In researching William's line I have uncovered quite a bit on the LOOP family and would like to exchange with others. In particular photographs.

I am looking for information about Philip H. ORTH and his wife, Fanny (nee KURTZ) and their family who lived in Sears, Michigan, around the late 1800's and early 1900's.

I am seeking anyone researching the LOOP surname in Michigan- In particular, the family of Henry Edwin LOOP and Catherine VANGORDON. The couple were early settlers of Kent County, Michigan, but concluded their lives in the LeRoy area of Osceola County. I think that this may have been because their son Ray Elmer LOOP and his wife, Nellie M. ? were living in LeRoy in the early 1900's. Ray died there in 1967.
