I am seeking vital data regarding August ERICKSON born in Sweden on Dec 28, 1844 and emigrated from Varmland, Sweden to Tustin, Michigan in 1888 with his family. His wife Stina; 2 sons: Carl Johan b. 1875, Olof Oscar b. 1877; and 2 daughters: Karolina b. 1878 and Anna b. 1881. There were probably more children born in Tustin after they were settled. It is possible that there are at present descendants of August Erickson. I wish to have family information for building a descendant tree.

Ira HOPKINS was born in Ontario County, New York, in May of 1842 or 1845, according to conflicting census records and GAR Post Records. I have never uncovered any information about Ira's parents, nor do I know if he had any brothers or sisters. Ira appeared on page 920 in the 1860 federal census, Oakland County, MI, West Bloomfield, a farm hand, living with the family of John CARE or CASE, 30, a farmer. On pg 929 of above census (69/69) is an Abigail HOPKINS, 50 years old, female, widow, value of real estate 600, bp NY. It's likely that she is Ira's mother, but I have no proof. On June 2, 1862, Ira Hopkins enlisted in the Civil War, serving as a Private in Company B, 88th Ohio Infantry, and was discharged on September 26, 1862. On 23 July 1867, Ira married Elizabeth Ann CLIFFORD in Woodland, Barry Co., MI. They lived in Barry Co., MI, Isanti Co., MN, Kent & Osceola Co., MI. Ira died 25 Jan 1912, Tustin, Osceola Co., MI. There was no obituary. They had nine children: Alfred Eugene of Jenny Lind, CA (1912); Flora Isabell, of Woodland, MI, wife of Edward A. SAWDY and Eugene VANDLEN; Alson, of Ludington, MI (1912); Frances Helen (died 1905), wife of Emil WELLENSTEIN; Julia, of Leroy, MI, wife of Arnel Kellogg; John Wesley of Cadillac, MI (1912); Phebe May HOPKINS of Tustin, MI (1912); Henry Robert of Aberdeen, WA (1912); and Addie Aneta PHILLIPS of Woodland, MI (1912). Am freely willing to exchange information about these people. Debra Eddy
