Death of Mrs. Aart Donker

Mrs. Aart Donker died this morning at seven o’clock at the residence of her son, Henry J. Donker, on Washington avenue, after an illness of only ten days.

She was born at Werkendam, Netherlands, and moved from there with her parents to Harivinen, Gelderland, and there married her husband, who survives her. Mr. and Mrs. Donker came to Grand Haven in 1865. For many years they have resided at their Beech Tree home, which burned only few weeks ago, and Mrs. Donker’s late illness dated almost from the time of that fire. Deceased was 77 years, four months, and six years.

Mrs. Donker is survived by her husband, and two children, Mrs. L. Kammersa, and Henry J. Donker of this city. She had a sister and a brother in the Netherlands, and a brother also lives in Pella, Iowa.

The deceased was a kind and loving mother, an affection able wife, and greatly liked by all who knew her. She was a consistent Christian women, a member of the First Christian Reformed church.
